Im Sally

I am a naturopathic nutritional therapist.

My role is to educate and support my clients to take responsibility for their own health.

I am married with two children and a gorgeous golden doodle called Frankie. My passion is health, well-being and the body's innate healing power. In my free time I love walking in nature, yoga, reading, art and cooking.

My true passion.

When I was 36, I believed I was in good physical condition. I maintained a balanced diet and had a consistent exercise routine. However, a virus knocked me off my feet for a month, setting off a cascade of health issues over the following year. Among these was chronic GORD (Gastrointestinal Oesophageal Reflux Disease), a condition where stomach acid leaks into the oesophagus, leading to severe heartburn and a constant unpleasant taste at the back of my throat. It was also discovered that I had a bacteria in my stomach called H.pylori, which could have been contributing to my symptoms.

The symptoms were relentless, affecting me every hour of every day. There were times when the pain was so intense that it brought me to tears, and I found it difficult to eat most foods without discomfort.

My doctor prescribed a course of very strong antibiotics to kill the H.pylori and put me on Lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor. I was consuming Gaviscon antacid by the bottle. Unfortunately, neither offered any real relief. An endoscopy ruled out any serious concerns, but I was informed that I'd be on medication indefinitely.

Not being one to rely on medication without good reason, I started eliminating various foods and making lifestyle adjustments to see if any were correlated with the worsening of my symptoms.

A friend then introduced me to the concept of naturopathic nutrition. Feeling disillusioned with conventional medical treatments, I decided to explore this holistic approach. Within just a few months of working with a naturopathic nutritionist, my symptoms started to improve significantly.

We collaborated closely to address my health issues, and I was stunned to see how small, consistent adjustments in my diet, lifestyle, and mindset could have such a profound impact on my well-being.

Through specialised functional testing, it was revealed that I had SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). I followed various treatment protocols to effectively manage and ultimately eliminate this condition.

The transformation..

was astonishing; not only did my digestive issues alleviate, but I also experienced improvements in multiple facets of my overall health.

An unexpected yet marvellous benefit of focusing on my overall well-being has been the resolution of long-standing issues. For example, I battled with acne from my teenage years right up to age 39. However, since working on enhancing my gut health, my skin has cleared up remarkably!

Furthermore, I was plagued by painful, heavy periods. I have seen significant improvement, almost unexpected, but I gladly received bonuses from my ongoing journey to optimise my overall health.

This experience underscores the importance of addressing the root causes of health issues by bringing the body into balance through a holistic approach. It serves as a testament to the body's innate ability to heal itself when provided with the right tools and conditions.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Mending a broken part will not necessarily benefit the whole, but if the whole is treated, the parts often mend by themselves.

Fuelled by an ever-increasing passion to understand health and well-being, I wanted to inspire and guide those who have been given little to no hope for recovery from chronic illnesses. That led me to enrol in the well-regarded College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM), where I studied Naturopathic Nutrition for 3 years.

My dedication to holistic health took on a deeper significance after my diagnosis with Hashimoto's, an autoimmune disorder affecting the thyroid. Through naturopathic techniques and therapies, I've achieved a level of control over my health that I've never felt before.

My own experiences have shaped me into a deeply empathetic practitioner. I make it a point to only recommend courses of action to my clients that I would be willing to undertake myself, or have already experienced firsthand. I am fully invested in supporting others to embark on their own journeys towards healing and well-being. I stand as living proof that health transformation is not only possible, it's achievable.

Helping you transform your health and wellbeing.

As we are multi factorial beings it imperative to treat the whole person. In order to get to the root cause of health concerns and transform health it is vital to adopt a holistic approach.

I evaluate and tailor a health plan that is personalised to the individual. Taking into account their own story, belief system, lifestyle and genetics to unlock their full potential.
